Official Announcement

To our valued Stakeholders, Partners, and Families,

We wish to advise that our CEO, Jess Karlsson, has tendered her resignation and will be completing a four-month notice period concluding in February 2022.

Under Jess’ leadership over the past 6 years, Cahoots has enjoyed a period of significant growth, launched innovative new services, built a high-performing team and, most importantly, lived our values and ensured that our purpose has driven decisions every day. The Board commends and thanks Jess for her efforts in leading Cahoots, an effort that led to our organisation being named the Rise Business Awards Charity of the Year in 2020 and ensures that we continue to be recognised as a leading charity in WA. We now deliver over 70 camps annually and provide a broad range of educational and recreational programs to almost 1,000 Western Australian families living with disability or facing exceptional challenges.

The Board is now focussed on the recruitment of a new CEO who will consolidate the work underway and inspire the organisation to keep our vision strong. Advertising for the role is underway and the intention is to have the position filled by January 2022.

Having completed a refresh of our strategic plan, Cahoots is poised for continued growth in 2022 and have some new and exciting initiatives underway. We remain focused on our deliverables for the remainder of 2021 and thank our committed staff, volunteers and management team for their effort and passion that ensures every Cahoots’ experience is the best it can be and every Cahoots’ participant feels valued.

We would like to thank Jess for all she has achieved whilst at Cahoots and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Regards,

Christine Truscott

Cahoots Chair on behalf of the Board

Help us, help others

No matter how small, your contribution goes towards helping Cahoots lower the costs for families using our services. Whilst we are NDIS funded, there is often a shortfall between the funding and the cost of our activities, so your donations mean families can still send their loved ones to our camps and programs.

For many, Cahoots is a life changing experience for both the participants who grow, learn and enjoy themselves, but it also provides respite to parents and families from the demands of full time care. Anything you can spare is greatly appreciated.
