Volunteer Induction Training – 7 April (3pm-6pm) – ONLINE
7th April 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The volunteer training induction is mandatory for every volunteer in Cahoots camps and programs. The 3 hour session will cover important aspects of volunteering with young people and adults living with disability. It details the history of Cahoots, as well as duty of care and safeguarding, working with people with disabilities and other social barriers, and challenging behaviours. The induction also includes discussion and scenarios to give you a genuine insight into what to expect while volunteering with Cahoots.
If you have a working with children check and/or police clearance, please bring them with you to the session. If not, then we will fill out forms with you at the conclusion.
Cahoots will continue to focus on delivery of our mission through delivery of Cahoots activities, whilst maintaining a safe environment. We are following advice from Australian Government and WA Department of Health, and implementing stricter health measures.
In response to COVID19, Cahoots will be assessing each camp and program, and adjusting it accordingly.
– Adapting itineraries to ensure we maintain the safety of our participants, their families, and our team during COVID19, in line with our response plan. Such as, limiting Cahoots group numbers and keeping activities to areas with small groups (less than 50).
– Running a range of fun, educational activities on-site, or in areas which allow safe social distancing, whilst helping to develop friendships skills and confidence and maintaining strict controls on hygiene and health.
– Including education on hygiene and best practices of social distancing in a fun, inclusive way.
We will continue to update itineraries to ensure participants and families are kept up to date with changes while ensuring that our key priority of safeguarding our participants, their families, and our team is at the forefront.
